My approach is interactive and collaborative. This means we will talk together
during our sessions and create a way to work towards and achieve your goals.

I emphasize a strength-based approach to help people achieve the personal
growth and contentment they are searching for.

In our sessions together I will help you to identify the existing resources you
may have and I will assist you in developing the new resources that you need to
achieve your goals.

Therapy is an individualized process and I use a variety of styles to address
clients’ needs.  Compassion and empathy are the core components of my
therapeutic work.

My experience in mental health has given me specific expertise in areas such as;

  • Adolescent issues and Transitional-age youth issues
  • School problems
  • Addiction,
  • Anxiety
  • Depression,
  • Schizophrenia
  • Women’s issues, including difficult experiences with romantic and sexual
    relationships, as well as career development worries, are of particular
    interest.  

I am experienced in the mental health field and have worked in a variety of
settings including direct clinical practice, supervision, and research.  Clinical
positions I have held include: supervising psychiatric social worker/assistant
program director at a community mental health program; play therapist with
children; therapist for at-risk teens; HIV/AIDS counselor; and as a counselor
for incarcerated women.   I also currently hold a social work position with the
Health Care Agency of Orange in Adult Mental Health.
This varied experience has helped me to develop a supportive and
uncomplicated approach to therapy.

In my private practice, as an Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I provide therapy
and counseling to adults, adolescents and couples in Huntington Beach,
California. I also provide consultation to new social workers and those who are
studying for their licensing exams.
